PASSENGERS

  1. All passenger bookings made with Moreton Island Adventures Pty Ltd for the Micat (Micat) are subject to terms and conditions below.

Cancellations & Alterations

  1. Micat DO NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS or partial redemptions at any time.
  2. The following notice is required for cancellation of passenger bookings:

Less than 24 hours’ 100% cancellation fee
24 hours’ or more A gift certificate minus 15% of the cost of the booking (less credit card fee and phone booking fee (as applicable)).
  1. Gift certificates are valid for use for 12 months. When re-booking, any increase in rates will be payable by the customer at the time of booking. No refunds will be issued of any remaining monies after rebooking. Rebooking is subject to availability, and new bookings will be subject to new terms and conditions.
  2. Passenger bookings may be altered as follows:
Notice
24 hours’ or more Change date or time of trip by up to 12 months from the original booking date for at a cost of 15% of the booking plus the difference in any ferry price (if applicable).
  1. Micat recommend purchasing suitable insurance against cancellation fees, theft, loss or damage of personal belongings.
  2. It is the customer’s responsibility to cancel their camping permit directly with National Parks.
  3. Bookings are altered or cancelled when the customer successfully completes this transaction using their booking account online.

Check-in

  1. Check-in will close 15 minutes prior to Micat’s scheduled departure. Passengers that arrive after check-in closing times may not be permitted to board Micat, may forfeit their ticket, and will not be entitled to a refund or transfer.

Behaviour

  1. MICAT IS A NON-SMOKING VESSEL.
  2. You must always follow and carry out all lawful directions and rules given by Micat’s staff.
  3. You must take all reasonable precautions for your own safety and the safety of any person in your care, including but not limited to using handrails, controlling children and listening to relevant safety briefings.
  4. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  5. Micat is a fully licenced vessel. You are permitted to carry alcohol onboard Micat but may only consume alcohol supplied by us whilst on board.

Baggage & Dangerous Goods

  1. In the interests of comfort and safety, a baggage allowance of 3 PIECES OF CARRY-ON LUGGAGE PER PASSENGER is permitted in the designated luggage racks.
  2. The following will not be carried at any time as walk on freight: furniture, including lounge chairs and beds, TVs, carpet rolls or any other building materials.
  3. The following will be carried off-peak at the discretion of the vessel master;
    1. Lawn mowers, whipper snippers, portable generators, outboard motors (all empty of fuel), 1 maximum 20L approved fuel containers (see AS/NZS2906.2001) per passenger.
  4. Dangerous goods must be declared prior to travel. To find out more about dangerous goods, visit here.
  5. You are responsible for carrying and moving your own baggage on and off Micat and for its safety onboard.
  6. You warrant to us absolutely that no dangerous items (unless expressly permitted by us) shall be carried by you onboard. You must indemnify us on demand for any loss we suffer as a result of your breach of this warranty.
  7. We are not obliged to carry or otherwise handle dangerous items that we determine in our absolute discretion to be of a dangerous nature, including but not limited to petrol, fuel, LPG, propane cylinders, diving scuba tanks and pyrotechnics.

VEHICLES

  1. All vehicle, trailer and any other authorised property bookings made with Moreton Island Adventures Pty Ltd for the Micat (Micat) are subject to terms and conditions below.

Cancellations & Alterations

  1. Micat DO NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS or partial redemptions at any time.
  2. The following notice is required for CANCELLATION of vehicle bookings:
Notice  
Less than 5 days’ 100% cancellation fee.
5 days’ or more A gift certificate minus 25% of the cost of the booking (less credit card fee, vehicle access permit, and phone booking fee (as applicable)).
7 days’ or more A gift certificate minus 17% of the cost of the booking (less credit card fee, vehicle access permit, and phone booking fee (as applicable)).
1 months’ or more A gift certificate minus 10% of the cost of the booking (less credit card fee, vehicle access permit, and phone booking fee (as applicable)).
  1. If passenger(s) travelling in a vehicle provide 24 hours’ notice of cancellation, the customer will be entitled to a gift certificate.
  2. Gift certificates are valid for use for 12 months. When re-booking, any increase in rates will be payable by the customer at the time of booking. No refunds will be issued of any remaining monies after rebooking. Rebooking is subject to availability, and new bookings will be subject to new terms and conditions.
  3. Vehicle bookings travelling from:
    1. Brisbane to Moreton Island may be altered as follows:
Notice  
48 hours’ or more Can change date or time of trip by up to 12 months from departure date for a cost of 40% of booking plus the difference in any ferry price (if applicable)
5 days’ or more Can change date or time of trip by up to 12 months for a cost of 25% of booking plus the difference in any ferry price (if applicable).
7 days’ or more Can change date or time of trip by up to 12 months for a cost of 15% of booking plus the difference in any ferry price (if applicable).
1 months’ or more Can change date or time of trip by up to 12 months for a cost of 10% of booking plus the difference in any ferry price (if applicable).
    1. Moreton Island to Brisbane may be altered as follows:
Notice  
Less than 2 hours’ Cannot change date or time of trip.
2 hours’ or more Can change date / time of trip up to 12 months from departure date for a cost of 5% of booking plus the difference in any ferry price (if applicable).
  1. It is the customer’s responsibility to cancel their vehicle access permit and/or camping permit directly with Mulgumpin Camping.
  2. Bookings are altered or cancelled when the customer successfully completes this transaction using their booking account online.
  3. If the customer moves their booking to a cheaper trip, the customer will not receive any difference in fares.

Check-in

  1. Check-in will close 15 minutes prior to Micat’s scheduled departure. Vehicles that arrive after check-in closing times will not be permitted to board Micat, will forfeit their ticket, and will not be entitled to a refund or transfer.

Behaviour

  1. MICAT IS A NON-SMOKING VESSEL.
  2. You must always follow and carry out all lawful directions and rules given by Micat’s staff.
  3. Drivers must always accept direction by Micat crew during loading and unloading. All vehicle engines must be switched off and handbrake engaged once the vessel is underway.
  4. You must take all reasonable precautions for your own safety and the safety of any person in your care, including but not limited to using handrails, controlling children, and listening to relevant safety briefings.
  5. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  6. Micat is a fully licenced vessel. You are permitted to carry alcohol onboard Micat but may only consume alcohol supplied by us whilst on board.

Declaration of Vehicle Dimensions

  1. Vehicles will be measured prior to check-in. Due to the complexity of loading, Micat reserves the right to refuse boarding for vehicles where dimensions have been incorrectly declared.
  2. VEHICLES BOOKED UNDER SIZE MAY BE LEFT BEHIND, will be left until last to board, and will be charged additional fees prior to boarding.
  3. Micat reserve the right to conduct a search of any vehicle or cargo and the Master may refuse to carry any person or cargo onboard the vessel where they deem the person or cargo to be undesirable, unsuitable or dangerous.

Dangerous Goods

  1. Dangerous goods must be declared prior to travel. To find out more about dangerous goods, visit here.
  2. We are not obliged to carry or otherwise handle dangerous items that we determine in our absolute discretion to be of a dangerous nature, including but not limited to petrol, fuel, LPG, propane cylinders, diving scuba tanks and pyrotechnics.
  3. LPG and Propane may be carried in cylinders that comply with Australian Standard AS2468, AS2469, AS2470 (stamped on cylinder), to a maximum size of 9kg with date of inspection within 10 years.
  4. All cylinders can remain vehicle provided:
    1. Maximum size 9L capacity
    2. Caravan’s / camper – one additional bottle maximum size 25kg
    3. Gas bottle is secure within / on the vehicle;
    4. Gas bottle is secured in the upright position
    5. Gas bottle is turned off; and
    6. Gas bottle must be within validation.
  5. You warrant to us absolutely that no dangerous items (unless expressly permitted by us) shall be carried by you onboard. You must indemnify us on demand for any loss we suffer as a result of your breach of this warranty.

GENERAL

Transportation of Animals

  1. Animals are allowed at the Micat terminal. To ensure comfort and safety of passengers and crew, animals must be accompanied and restrained appropriately. Animals are not permitted on the saloon or viewing deck.
  2. The master of the vessel has the authority to refuse to carry any animal deemed to present a risk to passengers or crew.

General

  1. We exclude any term, condition or warranty that may otherwise be implied in this contract. We exclude any liability for any loss, including consequential loss, death or personal injury incurred as a result of or in connection with Micat, including that caused by our negligence. You indemnify us for any loss suffered or incurred by us (including for death or injury to any other passenger) caused by your negligence or breach of contract.
  2. Micat is not a common carrier and does not contract as such. Micat accepts no responsibility for any damages sustained to vehicles during travel on Micat. We recommend purchasing suitable travel insurance.
  3. Micat services may be cancelled or altered for various reasons at any time without notice. In this instance, bookings will be moved to service(s) of the customer’s choice (subject to availability) without incurring any liability whatsoever. All departure, arrival and journey times shown on any ticket, advertisement or notices are estimates only, and cannot be guaranteed.
  4. If a single ticket is issued to a person in relation to a number of passengers travelling in group, the person whom the ticket is issued will be held to have contracted with us as an agent for and on behalf of all of the passengers in the group, and all such passengers will be deemed to have entered into, and be bound by the terms and conditions contained herein.
